OnePlus is set to launch two new smartphones in China at the end of this month, namely OnePlus 15 and Ace 6, which is the official date for the October 27th release. The Ace 6 will probably be known as the OnePlus 15R worldwide, but its international launch may not coincide with the OnePlus 15's release, which is expected to be in December.
In the run-up to the launch, OnePlus has already confirmed some of the specifications for the Ace 6, which has given a clearer view of the phone's performance and design changes. The phone seems to be coming out as an economical flagship with a great deal of improvements when compared to its predecessor.
The leaks on social media and the official announcements on Weibo indicate that the OnePlus 15R is likely to have an AMOLED display with a flat surface and perhaps an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner as well. Besides, the panel is claimed to be able to refresh at a maximum rate of 165Hz, which is the same as that of the flagship OnePlus 15.
The smartphone's construction is believed to be sturdy, receiving a combination of IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K as ratings, which means that it is quite resistant to both, water and dust. OnePlus might still go for the metal frame that enhances both durability and premium feel and the likely colour options are Black, White and Quicksilver.
Aside from the display, the battery capacity is mentioned as the most important upgrade of the phone. The Ace 6 is expected to house a huge 7,800mAh battery with 120W wired charging support as ultra-fast charging. There might be slight differences in battery specifications for the Indian variants. The device is believed to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite, a higher version compared to the last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The release of the OnePlus 15 is viewed as a November event, with the 15R following perhaps in December, according to the projections made by industry analysts. This staggered release may give customers the chance to choose between the flagship and the affordable premium models, thus having more options.
The release is set to pull in tech lovers who are on the lookout for top-notch performance in smartphones that are not too pricey, particularly because the three factors of large battery, fast charging, and high-quality display are already combined.
